Thank you for your interest in attending Rowan-Cabarrus Community College! The College provides educational opportunities for individuals who may not be citizens or residents of our regional service area. The school is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant students. Non-immigrant students will be accepted to begin classes in the Fall semester only.

Step One: What is your student status?
F1 Student Visa
The F-1 Visa allows entry to the United States as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, academic high school or other academic institution or in a language training program.

Additional F1 Student Visa Information
Application for Admission
A completed application, received no later than June 15 of the admission year.
Packet of Information
Financial Documentation: All financial documents must be originals. The College requires an official bank statement, notarized letter of support or sponsor bank statement showing that at least $20,500 (U.S. dollars) are available for tuition, fees, books and living expenses for one academic year. If there is no sponsor, an original and official document that shows the student has sufficient funds on deposit to support his or her tenure as a student ($20,500 a year in U.S. dollars).
TOEFL Form: A minimum score of 500 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a minimum score of 173 on the computerized version, or a minimum Internet Based Test (IBT) score of Reading 17, Listening 17, Speaking 16, and Writing 16. If any single score falls below the minimum, the IBT will not be considered. All scores must be received as official documents. TOEFL test scores must be within 2 years of the date of admission.
Step Three: Transcripts
F1 Student Visa
Forward a certified copy of his/her official high school diploma, transcript from all high schools and post-secondary institutions attended and an official U.S. educational evaluation of the documents. All educational records must be translated and evaluated by a reputable U.S. evaluation agency.
High school or college in the U.S.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to request official transcripts from the last high school(s) attended.
Official high school transcripts are required for:
- Applicants under the age of 18
- Specific programs of study such as Nursing, Dental Assisting, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Radiography
Note: Transcripts for financial aid purposes must include the graduation date.
Choose one of the following options for submitting your high school transcript to Rowan-Cabarrus.
- If you did not request your high school transcript at the time of completing the CFNC Application for Admission, you may log in to your CFNC account and choose to have your high school transcript sent directly to Rowan-Cabarrus at no cost, and our office will receive it almost immediately.
- Contact your high school and follow their procedures for requesting your transcript be sent to the Rowan-Cabarrus address indicated below.
Official transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope or sent electronically from the sending institution. Transcripts which have been opened, scanned, or faxed are not accepted.

All International transcripts must be evaluated and translated by a NACES approved international education evaluation organizations. Course by course evaluations are required. Rowan-Cabarrus prefers that you use SpanTran. Visit the SpanTran website for more information about their service.
Step Four: Advising & Planning
Someone from your Success Team, mentioned in your welcome letter, will be contacting you to set-up an advising meeting. They will help you understand your program of study and develop a plan that will lead you to academic success, and ultimately graduation. You are strongly encouraged to meet with your career and academic advisor prior to registering for classes.

Step Five: Registration
After meeting with your career and academic advisor, you are responsible for registering each semester using the Navigate tool. Please visit our registration dates webpage for registration dates and details.
Step Six: Paying Tuition & Fees
To be considered registered, students must pay tuition and fees. There will be no individual billing statements mailed to students. Navigate to our payment options for more information.
To avoid deletion of your schedule, it is the student’s responsibility to assure that financial aid, sponsorships, authorizations, and/or payment arrangements are made by the deadline posted for each registration period.
Tuition and fees may be paid at the Navigation Station at either North or South Campus.
